TELO’S JOURNAL
I can’t say that I’m a well-traveled guy, but I know well enough when I’m lost. We were lost. We were far enough from where we started that the city off in the distance was something for which no tale I’d ever heard could offer me a name or description. I’d once made the trek sudward with Paps to Swtichaven. He had needed some very particular supplies ā the exact details of which escape me at the moment ā and none of the traveling merchants who occasioned the Valley stocked for his specific needs. On foot we walked for nearly ten days before we arrived in that hive, a bustling place with thousands of bugs and an entire street of shops and vendors selling more kinds of wares than Iād ever imagined. We stayed for three nights in a two-story hex run by a family of bees and overlooking the nearby conduit before we began our travels back home. But this was not Swtichaven, and the nearest city beyond that was far enough… well… home was weeks or even months away…
TRANSCRIPT
[The second story arc opens with a repeat view of a distant city in the background. In the foreground, Phido lays prone with his tongue wrapped tightly around the mysterious artifact as Telo, behind him, notes the scenery.]
TELO: It’s a city. A big one.

Not much to say about this particular panel. MEZZAVERSE BETA continues with this brief introduction (and bit of a reminder from the last chapter) to Chapter Two: Termilus. I’ve pushed myself to be a bit more ambitious with this next chapter and have planned out a whole swath of things spread across TWENTY-FOUR panels. (For those keeping track, that could take six months of weekly strips — but hopefully not that long.) Read on…
